Session outline: So far in this chapter we have studied the general issues around international cooperation and the benefits to be obtained from it. This session homes in on a case study of a UK region that is developing international links with other cities and regions. We examine the motivations that propel it to do so in the modern world, th opportunities to be seized and the benefits to be obtained.
